Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Project Program Manager
Target industries with high sponsorship volume
Technology, management consulting, and healthcare systems sponsor the most Project and Program Manager roles. Focusing your search on these sectors substantially improves your odds of finding an employer willing to file an H-1B or E-3 petition on your behalf.
Confirm your degree aligns with the role
USCIS requires a specialty occupation link between your degree field and the job. A degree in business administration, engineering, information systems, or a related discipline typically satisfies this requirement for Project and Program Manager positions.
Get PMP or Agile certified before you apply
A PMP certification or demonstrated Scrum Master experience strengthens your H-1B petition by reinforcing the specialty occupation argument. It also signals to employers that sponsoring you is a lower-risk hire compared to an uncertified candidate.
Prepare a clear project portfolio with quantified outcomes
Employers sponsoring a visa want confidence they're getting an exceptional hire. A portfolio showing delivered projects, budget oversight, and measurable business impact makes it easier for a hiring manager to justify the sponsorship process internally.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified sponsoring employers
Migrate Mate lists Project and Program Manager roles from employers with confirmed visa sponsorship histories. Filtering to roles that match your visa type saves significant time compared to applying broadly and discovering sponsorship limitations later in the process.

Find Project Program Manager JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Is Project and Program Manager considered a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Yes, in most cases, but the specific job duties matter. USCIS looks for a direct connection between the role and a specialized field requiring at least a bachelor's degree. Positions with clearly defined technical or business systems scope, budget authority, and cross-functional coordination generally qualify. Generic management roles with no specialized degree requirement can face challenges.
What degree do I need for an employer to sponsor my visa as a Project or Program Manager?
Most employers require a bachelor's degree in project management, business administration, engineering, computer science, or information systems. USCIS wants the degree field to connect logically to the job duties. A degree in an unrelated field doesn't automatically disqualify you, but your employer's immigration attorney may need to build a stronger supporting argument for your petition.
How likely is it that my H-1B petition will be approved in this role?
Approval rates for Project and Program Manager H-1B petitions are generally solid when the job duties are clearly articulated and the degree requirement is specific. USCIS has issued RFEs for management roles that appear generalist, so petition quality matters. Working with an experienced immigration attorney who can document the specialty occupation connection thoroughly improves approval outcomes significantly.
Can Australian citizens get E-3 sponsorship for Project and Program Manager roles?
Yes. The E-3 visa applies to Australian citizens in specialty occupations, and Project and Program Manager roles routinely qualify. The E-3 has no lottery, no annual cap pressure in practice, and can be renewed indefinitely in two-year increments. Employers familiar with H-1B sponsorship can usually add E-3 filings with minimal additional effort, making it a practical alternative worth raising directly.
Where can I find Project and Program Manager jobs with confirmed visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate curates Project and Program Manager listings from employers with verified sponsorship histories, filtered by visa type. This removes the guesswork of applying to roles only to find the employer doesn't sponsor. You can browse current openings and identify which companies have an established track record of filing petitions for this job category.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Project Program Manager jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
